Material
GLASS
What happens when you trap a moment of chaos inside a block of stillness?
This untitled piece is part of an accidental series. A collection born not from planning, but from play, experimentation and a few glorious studio mishaps. Each work captures a fleeting, almost alchemical moment where pigment, glass and gravity collide in ways that can’t quite be repeated.
Built through a meticulous process of gathering and layering molten glass, with colour suspended between each level, it is then cast and polished to reveal an interior world. Think ink blooming underwater, or a memory frozen mid-thought.
There is tension here: between control and surrender, density and clarity, what’s hidden and what’s revealed. From some angles, it feels geological. From others, biological. But always, it is unmistakably alive.
Part of Kaja’s ongoing obsession with transformation, material honesty and the unexpected magic of process. This is glass as storyteller, not just surface.
