WHERE AM I MUMMY?

My work explores the tension between presence and absence, identity and the unknown, through the experience of a mirror that does not reflect. Inspired by the concept of "the double," this piece seeks to evoke the wonder that children feel when they first discover their reflection, drawing adults back to a moment of pure curiosity. By including a baby rattle which is an object tied to sensory exploration and innocence, I amplify the sense of playfulness and nostalgia. The frame, initially made from expanding foam, was refined with sanding and speckling to balance its playful origins with a more polished finish, inviting viewers to reflect on presence, absence, and the unexpected.
